1Danny is writing about Sports Day for the school newspaper.

1.1write about写关于；写…的事；写到. write your ideas 意思是：把你的主意(观念，观点)写出来。write about your ideas 意思是：把你的主意(观念，观点)的论据(理由)写出来。前者标明：动宾联络是“直接”的;后者标明：动宾联络是“直接接”的。

1.3Sports Day运动会，运动日，一般指持续一天的运动会，而sports meeting常指持续若干天的运动会。

Sports Day was a great success this year!本年的运动会非常红功！
All the students and teachers from Grades 7, 8 and 9 took part in the sports events.来自7、8、9大学的一切学生和教师都参加了运动项目。
There were ten different events like running, long and high jumps, and ball throwing.有十种不一样的运动项目，例如跑步，跳远和跳高，以及扔铅球。

Failure is the mother of success.失利是成功之母。

2.4the sports events运动项目。
2.5event名词①竞赛项目。②大事，重要的作业。
The Olympics Games are an important event.奥运会是一项盛事。
2.6throw动词，投，扔
throw sth. to do sb./sth.把某物扔给或人/某事。
throw ... into ...把……投入……
throw ...away...丢掉……
throw at投向，掷向。
3Everyone worked very hard, and we all got some good exercise.我们都非常尽力，咱们都得到了极好的训练。
There were many winners this year.
本年有许多取胜者。
Kim, from Grade 7,won first place in four events.7大学的金姆赢得了四项竞赛的一等奖。
Tony, from Grade 8, won first place in two events and second place in three events.8大学的托葬，在两项竞赛中赢得了一等奖，在三项竞赛中赢得了二等奖。
And Jack, from Grade 9, won first

3.1work very hard很尽力作业/学习
3.2get some exercise训练，做些运动。It's important to get some exercise every day.每天做些运动很重要。
3.3winner可数名词，取胜者，优胜者。
3.4win first /second place赢得第一/二名。
4 I took part in a running event.
我参加了跑步项目
I ran really hard, but my tail got in the way.我真的很尽力的跑了，可是我的尾巴老是挡道。
So I didn't win first place.
所以我没有赢得第一名。
I only got third place.我只得了第三。
I felt a little sad,我觉得有点哀痛，
but then my teammates said,

Winning is not everything.
取胜不是悉数。
Having fun is important.重要的是开心。
They were right! We all had lots of fun!
