forest（森林）面积大，树木密度高，阳光很少穿过树冠，照耀到森林地上；

wood（树林）面积较小，动植物品种也较少。树木密度低，所以足够的阳光。

还有一点值得留心，wood大多用复数woods标明树林。

jungle不是科学术语，是口头语，一般指赤道邻近热带雨林（rainforest）低矮稠密的矮树丛。

简略地说，标明“木材制造的”，wood和wooden都可以，

只是用wooden的的频率大约是用wood的3倍以上。

和woolen, golden等描绘物质的描述词相同，诗歌或比方等文学性表达里一般用wooden。
