雅思口语人物类，一直是考生特别喜欢的类别，因为题目范围真是太有限啦!除了小孩儿、朋友、familymember、名人和老人，基本没啥可考了。在2016年第一波轮换题里面，就又出现了“Describe someone who’s older than youthat you admire.”
当然，没规定偏让咱们说老人，之前准备的人物类话题，只要能表达admire之情的，把年龄改一下，就是这个题目的答案了!
When I was little, I always played crossword puzzle with my next-doorneighbor who is a nice old man. He is a retired professor from a renowneduniversity. I heard he got his master’s degree when he was only 24 years old,which was not common back in his days. He’s like the most knowledgeable man I’veever known.
When I was in primary school, crossword puzzle was really popular in myclass. We would compete with each other to see who got the most puzzles solved.The clues were a little hard for me at that time, ‘cause they covered a widerange of fields, from history to show business. Well, the ones about celebritiesare my strong suit, but when it came to those professional areas like geographyor literature, I would be completely lost.
But I know just the one who can help me out, and that is the old man I justmentioned. When I played this game with him, I would get more than I expected.He didn’t just fill those blanks for me, he could tell every story behind theclues. For example, when we got “what’s the name of the world’s biggestcanyon?”, he would share with me how and when it was formed and where it islocated, and a bunch of other stuff related to it. So I learned so much from himby playing this game, I memorized lots of beautiful poems and got to know thestories of great people in the history, and heard about wonderful places aroundthe world.
So he’s the person I admire that I’d like to talk about.
