Talking about the welcome session, the obvious advantage is this can help students better adapt themselves to the life in university. Freshmen will be more familiar with things like how to register a course, when to have a meal in cafeteria, how to use the gym and library and so forth. It will be convenient for freshmen.
While the disadvantage is that some students may not be attending such a session. Some students may prefer to consult their classmates, search information on the Internet by themselves or just follow other students when they start their studies. Coordinators may feel disappointed to some extent.

Some people prefer to have a job that has a regular schedule, which means you may go to work at 9 in the morning and get off work at 17 in the afternoon. Some people prefer to have a job that has a flexible schedule, which means you may don't have to go to work at a certain time and you can arrange your own schedule. Which one do you prefer and why?

Personally speaking, I prefer to choose the latter one.
Firstly, this choice may help me save time. I may arrange my schedule to avoid the traffic jam in rush hours. However, if cho
osing the first one, in my city when everyone goes to work and gets off work at a certain time, the traffic will be very congested, you may spend 2 more hours than the normal time in commuting.
Secondly, this way may help me save money. For example, in my city, normally I may only spend around 10 dollars by taxi in commuting 15 kilometers. However, if choosing the first one and meeting the traffic jam, because of the waiting time, I may have to spend around 20 dollars by taxi in commuting the same distance.
