Rio 2016 Olympic organizing committee has revealed the medals that will be competed for at this summer’s Olympics.

2016年里约奥运的组委会公布了今夏奥运赛场将竞逐的奖牌。

A total of 2,488 medals, each weighing 500g, have been produced with- 812 gold, 812 silver and 864 bronze.

制作的奖牌总数为2488枚，包括812枚金牌，812枚银牌和864枚铜牌，每一枚奖牌重500克。

They were made with “sustainability at their heart”, says Organizing Committee.

组委会表示，奖牌制作是“从可循环使用的目标出发的”。

The gold medals are free from mercury, the silver and bronze medals are made from 30% recycled materials, and half of the plastic in their ribbons is from recycled plastic bottles.

金牌不含汞，银牌和铜牌所用的材料有30%是再生材料，奖牌绶带所用的塑料有一半来自回收的塑料瓶。

The designs feature laurel leaves – a symbol of victory in ancient Greece – surrounding the Rio 2016 logo, and organizer says they celebrate “the relationship between the strengths of Olympic heroes and the forces of nature”.

奖牌的设计图案是环绕着2016里约奥运标志的月桂树叶，月桂树叶在古希腊象征着胜利。主办方表示，这是对“奥运英雄们的力量与自然力量间的关系”的赞颂。

In line with the ecological theme of the Games, the podiums on which the athletes will receive the medals are made from organic materials and have been designed to be reused as furniture after the Games.

和奥运会的生态主题相一致，运动员们接受奖牌时将登上的领奖台由有机材料制成，根据设计理念，领奖台在奥运会结束后可改造成家具循环使用。

A team of refugees will compete for the first time at this summer’s Olympics in Rio. Previously, athletes who did not represent a country were not allowed to compete.

今夏在里约热内卢举行的奥运会将首次迎来一支由难民组成的代表队。而在此之前，仅有代表本国的运动员才能参加竞技。

The team will likely number between five and 10 athletes, the committee said in a statement, and “will be treated at the Olympic Games like all the other teams.”

奥委会在一份声明中表示，这个队伍将由5-10名运动员组成，“他们会与其他队伍一样被同等对待”。

“By welcoming Refugee Olympic Athletes to the Olympic Games in Rio, we want to send a message of hope to all the refugees of the world,” said International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.

A refugee would also carry the torch during the Greek leg of the flame relay. The team will march in the opening ceremony on Aug 5 just before the athletes from host Brazil.
